Abstract

In this talk, we will share two experiences of building and deploying systems in Alibaba's production. The first experience is with RFID. Alibaba's logistics network needs to deliver several billion packages to customers each month. Therefore, the accuracy of routing packages should be extremely high. In this talk, we will introduce RF-Chord, a system that uses RFID technologies to achieve high throughput and high accuracy package scanning. The second experience is with 5G. Alibaba provides cloud-based 5G services to customers. In this talk, we will introduce uScheduler, a system that allows deploying 5G instances in a rack of servers. The most interesting part of uScheduler is that it allows resource sharing among these 5G instances without modifying the vendors' 5G software code. We will share challenges and lessons we learned during building and deploying RF-Chord and uScheduler.
